Here are some pictures of previous work that we have designed and constructed.
The above gravel garden and curved decking area with a small bubble water feature completed a brief to remove all areas of grass from the back garden and to have a limited amount of future maintenance.
The following pictures depict before, during and after scenes of another largish garden project. This garden was an extensive project, as the clients had recently purchased an area of field behind their house. Planning regulation meant that we were not able to construct any permanent features beyond the existing garden boundary. We decided to create a natural field hedge inside the new post and rail fencing. Within the original garden area we created two distinct seating areas connected by an interesting curved set of steps.
Views out from the garden across fields to far hillside and along the rear garden to the kitchen end of the house.
On the Left, Work in progress digging out ready for the new steps, walling and lower seating area.
On the right the new view along the new rear path towards the steps down from the upper level to the new lower seating patio area.
These are views of the finished scheme.
On the left looking out across the valley from the patio area outside the kitchen window. On the right a view back towards the house showing the new curved steps down to the lower patio and the decorative slate area with the bubble feature in the terracotta pot.
Revised Front And Rear Gardens
A new larger patio area outside the living room using a low curved retaining wall, gravel path and a bubble water feature that can be viewed and heard from the living room.
To the left the front garden showing the new curved top fencing with a group of three white-barked betula "Jacquemontii" on the shaped, low grassy mound to screen the bare gable wall from the front access drive.
New Seating Area to Link Existing Pond The following is a revitalisation of an area around an existing rectangular pond. The dilemma that we had was how to integrate a softer more curving feel to link existing areas together and to provide a seating area near to the pond.
By using part of a Bradstone Wetherdale paving circle in conjunction with sandstone square cobble setts we were able to create the curves around the lawn and pond edges and to create easy changes in level by using a ramp down to the shed area.
Access to House Back Door from Parking Area. This shaded area leading to the back door of an old farmhouse was tidied up and made easier to maintain using a central path, plum slate and green crushed rock areas separated with EverEdge®. The paving slabs used were Bradstone Old Town in the Grey-Green colour to blend with the weathered Cotswold stone walls of the house. We reused some thin broken old cotswold stone roofing tiles as an edging to paved path. A new log store was constructed to match the existing feather edged close board fencing. The purple hazel bush was preserved and existing host, ligularia and astilbe plants were split up and replanted against the house wall.
